The programme offers two categories for investors to obtain residency, each with different durations and requirements. However, it’s important to note that investors under the IRP are not eligible to apply for Omani citizenship, except through existing regulations. Residency by investment categories in Oman

The two categories for investors to apply for residency by investment in Oman havedifferent durations and requirements.

The residency for up to 10 years category includes applicants who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Individuals who have opened a company in Oman (public/closed joint-stock company) and demonstrate ownership of shares valued at no less than OMR 500,000;
  • Owners of companies that employ minimum 50 Omani citizens;
  • Holders of Omani government bonds worth at least OMR 500,000.

The second category refers to Omani residency by investment for up to 5 years. The criteria for this category is the same as for the residency for up to 10 years, but the investment must be minimum OMR 250,000. You can also buy a property in this category, valued at the same price.

Both categories of residence permits in Oman may be renewed.

Close relatives of the primary applicant, such as immediate family members (parents, spouse, and children), can accompany the primary applicant when obtaining the residency visa. However, there may be specific conditions and limitations for family members.

Individuals aged 60 and above also can apply for residency by demonstrating a consistent monthly income of at least 4,000 OMR.

Applying for residency by investment in Oman
